Moanoghar Residential School & College receives a new Principal
On 11 August, the Moanoghar Residential School & College (MRSC) receives Ashok Kumar Chakma as a full-fledged Principal through a reception ceremony presided by Ven. Shraddhalanakar Mahathera, a Founding member of Moanoghar and President of the Governing Body of the institute. On behalf of the teachers Bishwa Moni Chakma and Nisha Chakma received the new Principal by offering a floral bouquet. Among others Ven. Buddha Datta Mahathera, Joint Secretary and member of the school’s governing body, outgoing Principal (in-charge) Jotil Bihari Chakma, and Vice Principal Arupan Bikash Barua were present at the reception function. 
On behalf of the teachers Ananda Mitra Chakma and Chinmoyee Chakma, both are senior teachers, delivered speech on the occasion. 
All speakers said that the Moanoghar Residential School has been upgraded into a ‘school and college’ in this current year, which is a turning point for our institute. They said that Moanoghar as an educational institute is a symbol of hope and trust for hundreds of orphans and marginalised indigenous children coming from different indigenous communities of the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT). They expressed their hope that under the dynamic leadership and guidance of the new Principal all teachers and other staff can work together to achieve the goal of quality education for all children of Moanoghar.  At the same time, Mr Chakma has been playing the roles of the Executive Director at Moanoghar, which will give a leverage for taking quick decisions and implementation of any program of the school - they added. 
Notable that for the last one and half years, a senior teacher of has been playing the roles and responsibilities of the school as a Headmaster-in-charge. Following the government policy, the Government Body of the institute has appointed Ashok Kumar Chakma as the Principal of the MRSC effective from 1 August 2024 and onwards.
