“Diversity teaches people to be
tolerant”. Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner
of Rangamati District said these words, while speaking as the chief guest at
the `Closing Ceremony of the Science Fair, Mathematical Olympiad & Language
Competition 2021’ held on 23 November 2021 at the Moanoghar playground. Chaired by Jhimit Jhimit
Chakma, Headmaster of Moanoghar Residential School, the function was also
addressed by Nirupa Dewan, Vice-President of the Moanoghar Executive Council,
and Ashok Kumar Chakma, Executive Director as special guests. In the beginning
of the program, Pulak Roy, senior teacher of the school gave a
welcome speech.
It
is notable that the Moanoghar Residential School organised a three day long
‘Science Fair, Mathematics Olympiad & Language Competition-2021’ on 16-18
November 2021. Through this closing
ceremony the winners of different events were given prizes. A total of 513
students participated in the Science projects, Mathematical Olympiad and
Language competitions.
The chief guest highly
appreciated Moanoghar for its works on improving access to education with
residential facilities to the children from different backgrounds in the
Chittagong Hill Tracts region. The students are staying together, and studying
together that inculcate the value diversity among them. He further added that the
practice of mathematics and science teaches people to be generous by removing
all illiteracy and superstition. He asked the students to have a big dream to
be successful and good citizens of the country in their lives.
Jhimit
Jhimit Chakma, the chair of the function, concluded the discussion session with
a call to all students to actively participate in the science fair and
different events which will be organised every year.
The
closing ceremony was followed by a cultural show with participation of the
students.
