Ven. Shraddhalankar Mahathera is one of the founders of Moanoghar. He assumed the responsibility of the Director of Moanoghar in 1978, when he was a student at the University of Chittagong. For a long time he served in this position. Later he assumed the positions of Treasurers and Vice-President of the Executive Council. He did BA (Hon’s) and MA in Buddhist Studies from Chittagong University. At present he is the President of the School Managing Committee (SMC) of the Moanoghar Residential School. He is also the Lord Abbot of the Sangharam Vihara at Vedvedi in Rangamati.

Nirupa Dewan is a renowned educationist and human rights activist. Among the numerous associations she is involved with are Rotary Club of Rangamati, CHT Citizen’s Committee, and Bangladesh Shishu Academy. She retired from the service as the Headmistress of Rangamati Government High School. She also worked as member of the National Human Rights Commission of Bangladesh.

Banchita Chakma, a very well-known educationist in CHT has been selected as member to the Executive Council of Moanoghar in the last annual general meeting (AGM). She did B.Sc (Hon’s) and M.Sc in Botany from Dhaka University. She joined the education service in 1984. During her long career in education, she worked in different colleges. She retired from service as the Principal of Rangamati Government College. She was also a Principal of Rangamati Women’s College. She was a Senate Member and also the Academic Council Member of the National University of Bangladesh. She is now a member of the National Human Rights Commission of Bangladesh. She is associated with various social organisations. She now holds the position of the Commissioner of the District Rover Scout of Rangamati.

Goirika Chakma was elected Vice President to the Executive Council at the 2019 annual general meeting of Moanoghar. She did BA (Hon’s) and MA in History from Chittagong University and later B.Ed from the Chittagong Teacher’s Training College. She was one of the founding teachers of Moanoghar Residential School. She joined the school as an Assistant Teacher when it was formally started on 1stJanuary 1982. She had a strong passion for teaching profession. After 37 years of service in the Moanoghar Residential School, she retired from teaching in 2019. Now apart from being a Vice President of Moanoghar Executive Council, she is involved in various social and cultural organizations and girls’ guide activism.

Latika Talukder, BA and B.Ed, was the founding Principal of the Moanoghar Residential School. She joined the school on 1 January 1982, when it officially started. Before joining the Moanoghar Residential School, she served as the Assistant Headmistress and later Headmistress at Kamalchari Junior High School in Khagrachari district for 8 years from 1974 to 1981. In 1982, at the invitation of Ven. Bimal Tishya Mahathera and Ven. Prajnananda Mahathera – both were the founding members of Moanoghar, she assumed the position of Principal at the Moanoghar Residential School. She served here for 25 years until she retired on 9 January 2007. He had an outstanding contribution in the making of the Moanoghar Residential School as one of the top institutions in the CHT region.

Kirti Nishan Chakma is a former student of Parbatya and Moanoghar. He studied English in Dhaka University and later MBA in France. He had wide experience to work with national and international organisations such as UNDP, ILO, World Bank and Asian Development Bank (ADB). Currently he is a freelance consultant.

Ven. Buddha Datta Bhikkhu is a former student of Moanoghar (SSC batch 1985). He studied Buddhism in Srilanka and South Korea. He is the Head Abbott of Wonmyung Meditation Centre.

Sonadhan is a former student of Moanoghar. He is one of the founders of Moanoghar Pre-Cadet School and is currently its Principal. He is also well-known social worker and is associated with the Managing Committee of Rangapani Milan Vihara.

Samar Bijoy Chakma is a former student of Moanoghar (SSC batch 1988). He did BBA (Hon’s) and MBA in Accounting from Chittagong University. He is currently serving with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP).

Usha Moy Khisa is a former student of Moanoghar. He did LLB (Hon’s) and LLM from Rajshahi University. He is now practising at the Rangmati Judge’s Court. For a long time, he has been working in the Executive Council of Moanoghar. Now he is assigned with the land issues of Moanoghar.

Kalo Moni Chakma a respected community elder in Rangapani village. He served in the Roads & Highways Department of the government. For a long time he has been associated with Moanoghar. He is also the President of Rangapani Milan Vihara Managing Committee.

Supriya Tripura is a development worker. He was elected a member to the Executive Council at the 2019 annual general meeting. He did Bachelor degree in Agricultural Science at Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh. Later he did Master Degree in Environmental Management from Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia. He started his career at the Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board (CHTDB) as Field Manager (Office Administration and Horticulture). At present he is working for UNDP on livelihoods (horticulture-agriculture) under the Sustainable and Inclusive Development in CHT (SID-CHT) at UNDP, Rangamati.

Jhuma Dewan is a development worker. She did Masters in Environmental Science and Natural Resources Management at the Australian National University (ANU), Australia. She has a long career with UNDP and Care-Bangladesh on the issues of rights and gender. She is now working for CHTDF-UNDP as Gender Cluster Leader.

Uchimong CHOWDHYRY is a development worker. He was elected a member to the Executive Council at the 2019 annual general meeting. He did BSS (Hon’s) and MSS in Sociology from Chittagong University. He has a long career in development organizations – both national and international. Currently he is working as ‘Program Officer’ (Gender Justice & Peace-building) at with UNDP-CHTDF. Rangamati.

Bhagya Moni Chakma is a former student of Moanoghar. He did a Diploma in Electronics and Electrical Engineering. He is now working for Robi, a leading telephone company in Bangladesh. He is now regional coordinator in Rangamati hill district.
