On 1 September 2024, Ven. Mujin Sunim, President of Douglas A. Campbell (DAC) Foundation, USA, paid a visit to the Moanoghar Residential School and College (MRSC) in the morning. She visited the daily assembly of the school followed by a series of events such as a stage show perfomed by children of the school’s English Club.

Later she inaugurated the Science Fair followed by a drawing competition organised in the school premises. The MRSC organises Science Fair every year as part of STEM education program supported by Luciole Foundation, France and Comgest, Germany.

A total of 13 groups displayed projects in the Science Fair. The students who participated in the Science Fair were categorised into two groups: Group A (from Class VI to Class VII) and Group B (from Class VIII to Class IX).  Ven. Mujin Sunim visited all science projects presented by students. She encouraged all Moanoghar students to study hard by reminding the fact that millions of children in the world are out of access to education.

On the same day, Ven. Mujin Sunim also had a views exchange meeting with the teachers of the MRSC. Through a 'questions and answers' (QA) method, she explained the fundamental qualities of a teacher. Of the qualities that a teacher should posses, non-favouritism to each and every student is very important, she added.

Notable that DAC Foundation has been supporting a primary health care program, repairing of school toilets and other establishments in the residential hostels of Moanoghar.

Ven. Mujin Sunim visited Moanoghar from 29 August to 4 September 2024.
